LeoVegas Review
Our LeoVegas review below does not apply to residents of Ontario.

The process I used for this LeoVegas review is how we evaluate casinos every time we review online casinos in Canada. These are the main pillars of that process, which are broken down further once inside them:
- LeoVegas’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
- Bonuses and offers from LeoVegas
- Payment methods accepted by LeoVegas
- LeoVegas’s game selection
- The user experience at LeoVegas
- Popularity of LeoVegas
LeoVegas’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
At CanadaCasino, we have a mandate to focus on player safety: we always want to recommend casinos that can be trusted by players in Canada. It’s why we begin all of our casino reviews by assessing the casino’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security, and it’s why I began my LeoVegas review at the same place. Here’s what I found when it came to LeoVegas’s player safety.
| Legal gambling age |
|---|
| The legal gambling age in most Canadian provinces and territories is 19 years old (in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec, though, it is 18), meaning online casino operators must verify every player’s age to ensure minors do not gamble. Each province and territory is regulated provincially. For example, gambling in Ontario is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Visit our Licensing page for more information. |
LeoVegas’s licences
I quickly found that LeoVegas has a licence from one of the world’s most reliable regulators. This was a great start to the review:
- Malta Gaming Authority – Licence No. MGA/CRP/237/2013
Responsible gambling in LeoVegas
LeoVegas doesn’t simply have a responsible gambling page; the casino has a fully dedicated website for safe casino play (LeoSafePlay). It’s fair to consider this the paradigm I hope other casinos will mirror. LeoVegas has given its players all of the tools and resources that encourage responsible gaming: quality information and helpful advice, a self-assessment test, links to help organizations, blocking tools, and parental controls, the ability to set limits to deposits, losses, wagers, and sessions, timed reality checks, and self-exclusions.
| Addiction risk: play responsibly |
|---|
| While casino games are meant to be fun, gambling can become addictive and lead to harmful consequences if players do not play responsibly. With this in mind, we encourage players to look out for signs that might indicate problem gambling: – Chasing losses – Playing for longer than intended – Gambling with more money than intended – Disguising gambling activity from other people – Borrowing money to gamble If you recognize any of these signs, consider contacting any of the following help organizations: – ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) – Gamblers Anonymous Canada – Gambling Therapy |
What makes LeoVegas safe
Easily meeting the standards set by its MGA licence, LeoVegas employs these security measures:
- Data and information remain encrypted at all times
- Internal data handling is governed by Information Security Policies
- Relevant employees complete an Information Security Awareness Programme
- Extensive Terms and conditions and Privacy Policy
These are excellent measures, but some of the information was difficult to find. I think that having separate KYC and AML policies is better than wedging them into the middle of the Terms and conditions, the way LeoVegas has them.
My rating of LeoVegas’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
LeoVegas is a near-perfect casino when it comes to the casino’s safety and trustworthiness.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Licenses | 7/7 | LeoVegas is clear about its licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), with the licence number and a link to the license on the footer of every page. The MGA is a highly-recognized gaming authority. |
| Responsible Gambling | 7/7 | LeoVegas’s responsible gambling page has everything I look for, including information, resources, and tools. |
| Security | 5/6 | While LeoVegas is completely secure, some of the information about the security is harder to find than I would like. Separate KYC and AML policies would be better than wedging them into the T&C’s, as well. |
| Top marks for safety |
|---|
| LeoVegas secures top marks with its transparency and responsible gambling efforts: 19/20. |
Bonuses and offers at LeoVegas
Here, the lens of my LeoVegas review zeroes in on the sort of casino bonuses that are available to players in Canada.
| Bonus risks |
|---|
| Players should be aware that bonuses come with wagering requirements that must be met to gain the bonus money. Often, they require players to bet the bonus amount 30 or 40 or more times over. Over 80% of players lose money with casino bonuses. |
LeoVegas welcome bonus

Casino welcome bonuses are often the most significant draws for new players. At LeoVegas, new players are treated to a bonus that allows them to claim up to $1,500 and 100 free spins across their first 3 deposits of at least $20.
The wagering requirement for both the bonus and winnings from free spins is 25x and must be met within 7 days. Free spins are good to use for 3 days. These terms are some of the best welcome bonus terms I’ve seen. The 25x wagering requirement is super-low, even if the 7-day window is a tad tight. The terms separate this bonus from so many other casino welcome bonuses.
Here’s how the welcome bonus from LeoVegas works:
| Deposit | % of Match | Amount | Free Spins | Slot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First | 100% | up to $500 | 33 | Bruno’s Roar Gold Blitz Extreme |
| Second | 100% | up to $500 | 33 | Buffalo King Megaways |
| Third | 100% | up to $500 | 34 | Majestic Fury Megaways |
LeoVegas’s regular bonuses
There are several other regular bonuses that players in LeoVegas can take advantage of:
- Megaways Weekends: From 8 PM ET on Friday nights through to Sunday at 7:59 PM ET, players can receive up to 45 free spins that come with zero wagering requirements. Players must first deposit once, and then they must wager the deposit amount each day of the weekend. Depending on their deposit and wagers, they are awarded free spins:
| Deposit | Wager | Free Spins | FS Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20 | $20 | 5 | $0.20 |
| $40 | $40 | 10 | $0.40 |
| $80 | $80 | 15 | $0.60 |
Free spins are awarded on a trio of megaways slots, each associated with a day on which the wagers must occur:
| Day | Slot |
|---|---|
| Friday | Great Rhino Megaways |
| Saturday | Buffalo King Megaways |
| Sunday | Madame Destiny Megaways |
- 10% Weekly Cashback: LeoVegas players can take advantage of weekly cashback bonuses on losses in the live casino from Fridays at 6 PM ET until Sundays at 11:59 PM ET. Players must lose a minimum of $50 to claim the 10% cashback. There is no limit on how much cashback players can claim.
- Night Owl Deals: There are two different offers for players who play between 8 PM ET and 12 AM ET, Monday through Friday:
- Deposit $30, $50, or $100, wager your deposit 3x, and receive 25, 30, or 35 free spins on the 9 Masks of Fire slot.
- Deposit $30, $50, or $100, wager your deposit 15x, and receive 5, 15, or 35 free chips worth $1 on the Adventures in Wonderland game show.
Free spins are great, as are cashback bonuses, but I would still like to see some regular reload bonuses made available to players in Canada.
Promotions and tournaments
LeoVegas offered, in addition to the above bonuses, an exclusive LeoJackpot. Players can opt in to the game, which adds $0.15 to every wager made on specific slots to the jackpot. Hundreds of LeoVegas slots are included in the LeoJackpot promotion. There are 4 progressive jackpots that participating players can win: the Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega LeoJackpots. The Mega jackpot is worth at least $7.5 million, but can get up to $40 million!
Beyond that, though, I’d like to see LeoVegas offer more tournaments.
LeoVegas’s VIP/loyalty program
Players must opt in for LeoVegas’s communications to participate in the casino’s loyalty program, The Club, which I think is a cheesy demand. The program provides players with a host of VIP casino bonuses, including tailored offers, exclusive promotions, birthday gifts, access to a personal account manager, VIP tournament invites, exclusive live tables, and more, but information about LeoVegas’s VIP program was hard to find.
My rating of bonuses available at LeoVegas
A wide collection of bonuses and promotions could only be improved by more reload bonuses and more details about its VIP Club.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome Bonus | 6.5/7 | $1,500 is a decent amount at the 100% rate, and the 100 free spins are also a fun gift, but the 25x wagering requirements are what make this offer a great one, as 30x is on the low side of the industry standard. It could be for more, so I won’t give it a perfect score, but this one is close. |
| Regular Offers | 2.5/4 | LeoVegas has several great promotions, including multiple free spins offers and a live cashback bonus, but I’d like to see more reload bonuses and tournaments. |
| VIP/Loyalty Program | 2/4 | LeoVegas’ VIP program sounds really good, but the details are sparse. Having to opt in for communications to participate also seems a bit cheesy to me. |
| Good foundations need filling |
|---|
| An excellent welcome bonus doesn’t mean LeoVegas has a perfect bonus program. The casino earns an 11/15 grade because it could use more regular bonuses and clearer details about its loyalty program. |
Payment methods at LeoVegas in Canada
LeoVegas only works with the most reputable payment providers in Canada. I do wish there were a few more options, especially for withdrawals, but the casino does accept the most common methods. These are the casino payment methods LeoVegas accepts in Canada:
| Payment Method | Min Deposit | Max Withdrawal | Average Deposit Time | Average Withdrawal Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interac | $10 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| Visa | $10 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| Mastercard | $10 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| Apple Pay | $10 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| eCashout | N/A | $20 | N/A | Within 5 days |
| Bank Transfer | N/A | $20 | N/A | Within 5 days |
| Financial risks |
|---|
| This is a reminder that gambling involves real money and, therefore, financial risk. Casinos do not open their doors without being favoured to win, which means most players lose over time. This is a reminder to set limits before playing and only gamble what you can afford to lose. |
Minimum deposit and withdrawal processing times
The minimum deposit at LeoVegas is $10, which is happily low. Not quite as low, but still on the low side, the minimum withdrawal from LeoVegas is $20. Withdrawals are processed within 5 days at the latest, but usually within 24 hours. It’s generally fast.
Cryptocurrency accepted at LeoVegas in Canada
Unfortunately, LeoVegas does not accept cryptocurrencies in Canada.
| The dangers of using cryptocurrency |
|---|
| Players should note that using cryptocurrency comes with risks. Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile, with their values oftentimes fluctuating rapidly. The Government of Canada, the Bank of Canada, or other financial institutions do not back crypto; it is not stable nor guaranteed, which leaves users vulnerable to losing large amounts of money. We strongly recommend setting financial limits and investing only what you can afford to lose. |
Step-by-step guide on how to withdraw from LeoVegas
Withdrawing from LeoVegas is a breeze:
- Click the account balance in the top right.
- Select the “Withdraw” tab.
- Choose the withdrawal method.
- Enter the amount to be withdrawn.
- Enter the requested information related to the banking method.
- Click “Confirm Withdrawal.”
Other important information to know when withdrawing
The following should be kept in players’ minds when they are making a withdrawal request from LeoVegas:
- The casino reserves the right to carry out KYC identification processes before approving a withdrawal request.
- All wagering requirements must be met to withdraw.
My rating of LeoVegas’s payment methods
The lack of cryptocurrencies is the biggest factor hurting LeoVegas’s score here.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Options | 4/7 | LeoVegas accepts Interac, credit cards, and e-wallets, but it is not the most extensive list, and none can be used for both depositing and withdrawing. |
| Minimum Deposit & Payment Processing Times | 4/4 | The casino’s minimum deposit amounts are low, and its processing times are fast. |
| Cryptocurrency | 0/4 | Cryptocurrencies are not accepted at LeoVegas in Canada. |
| Good for fiat users |
|---|
| LeoVegas is a reliable casino for fiat users, but receives an 8/15 in theis section of the review because the casino does not accept cryptocurrencies and offers limited withdrawal methods. |
LeoVegas’s games selection
From the casino’s exclusive games and online slots through its live casino and game shows to its game providers, I now turn my LeoVegas review to the casino’s fun stuff: its 3,500+ casino games.

| Casino games warning |
|---|
| Players need to keep sight of the fact that casino games are a game of chance. While licensed games are tested by third parties for fairness, they are also weighted in favour of the casino. Most players, therefore, lose over time. It’s why we like to remind players that casino games are a form of entertainment, not a way to make money. |
Exclusive games at LeoVegas
We love a casino that provides players with original games they can’t find anywhere else, and that is exactly what LeoVegas offers. Games like Mysteries of Luxor, LeoVegas 10,000 X Gold, and Bellagio Diamonds offer a taste of something excitingly unique.

Aviator
Leovegas has recently added Aviator from Spribe. Aviator is a unique and easy-to-understand game with a monstrous RTP of 97%, which is probably why the game is one of the most successful games at every casino that offers it. LeoVegas wanted to provide its players with Aviator’s thrilling action, so players in Canada now have it!
Recommended slots you can play at LeoVegas
With nearly 3,500 online slots in LeoVegas’s game library, players in Canada are treated to an eclectic mix of bonus buy slots, classics, crash games, and even virtual sports. The library includes big hits and fresh releases from industry-leading studios. I was really happy to find Bonanza Falls and 9 Coins, because those are two of my favourites.
Quality live dealer tables at LeoVegas in Canada
LeoVegas has close to 200 live casino games available to play in Canada, which is a moderately-sized live game library. Players have access to more than 50 roulette tables, 40 blackjack tables, and 20 baccarat tables. The options include exclusive LeoVegas tables, VIP tables, and, yes, poker tables too.

Game shows you can play at LeoVegas
Those who are looking for game shows will find a dense menu at LeoVegas in Canada. There are over 40 titles from Pragmatic Play, Stakelogic, Playtech, and OnAir Entertainment, including big hits like Snakes & Ladders Live, Treasure Island, and Sweet Bonanza Candyland.

Popular game providers LeoVegas works with
Many of the industry’s strongest game providers contribute to LeoVegas’s selection of games in Canada. Evolution, Nolimit City, Blue Guru, Relax Gaming, NetEnt, and Push Gaming are some of the casino’s leading providers.
My rating of LeoVegas’s games selection: 19/20
The game selection at LeoVegas is elite.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Games Variety | 7/7 | Even though I’ve seen libraries with larger selections, LeoVegas’s collection is by no means small and offers a buffet of quality casino games, including LeoVegas originals, bingo, and the newly added, wildly popular Aviator game. |
| Live Casino Experience | 3.5/4 | We’ve seen bigger, but this is still a diverse selection of high-end live casino games, including a large selection of game shows |
| Game Providers | 3.5/4 | It’s a strong list of close to 50 of the industry’s top game providers. I have seen studio lists twice this size, though. |
| In a word, “elite” |
|---|
| LeoVegas’ game selection is truly elite. It could offer a few more live games and add a few more studios to its supply chain, but the library is worth a 14/15 grade. |
User experience at LeoVegas
Here, I turn my LeoVegas review to the casino’s user experience by inspecting its customer support, navigation, and mobile experience.
LeoVegas’s customer support
LeoVegas has a Help Centre with a detailed FAQ page. It also has a 24/7 live chat and an email address for customer support.
- email: [email protected]
- English and French are supported
- 5-10 minute response times from the live chat agent
- Help Centre with a dense FAQ page
I have to say that the LeoVegas Help Centre was quite useful once I was registered as a player (unregistered users do not have access to the Help Centre). The live chat support agents were friendly and fairly helpful, but they were also slow to respond.
User navigation at LeoVegas
The friendly orange-brown branding on a white background provides a bright and enjoyable environment for play in LeoVegas. Navigation is smooth and intuitive, with a left sidebar functioning as the site’s anchor, directing traffic, although I found it frustrating that using the website’s back arrow didn’t always bring me back to where I was, but to a root menu page instead.

LeoVegas makes good use of game categories, although filtering by game provider isn’t possible (you can search the provider, though, which does provide a similar result, albeit not exactly the same result). I also wish those main page game categories were listed across the top menu for easy access.
LeoVegas’s mobile experience
LeoVegas isn’t simply an award-winning mobile casino. LeoVegas is one of the best mobile casinos in Canada, if not the best.
Not only is the LeoVegas website optimized for mobile browsers, but the casino also comes with its own mobile app. When it comes to casino mobile experiences, LeoVegas leads the way.
I mean, they don’t call it the “King of Mobile Casinos” for nothing.
My rating of LeoVegas’s user experience
An exquisite user experience, especially on mobile devices, is held back by some basic frustrations with navigation.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Support | 6.5/7 | The LeoVegas Help Centre is loaded with support resources for players, but the live chat agents are slightly slow. |
| User Navigation | 2/4 | Intuitive navigation. Good looking. I wish I could filter games by game provider, though. I also wish the game categories on the main page were all listed across the top menu. Clicking the website’s back arrow didn’t necessarily bring me back either. |
| Mobile Experience | 4/4 | The transition to mobile is as smooth as it could be. Having a casino app that works with all mobile devices is helpful here, too. No wonder it’s considered the “King of Mobile Casinos.” |
| A “Kingly” experience in most ways |
|---|
| LeoVegas offers players a king’s experience in most ways, especially on mobile devices, but the website’s search functions hold the casino back from a truly royal score: 12.5/15. |
Popularity of LeoVegas
Here, I turn to Trustpilot, AnswerThePublic, Reddit, and other online sources to get a sense of LeoVegas’ public standing. Does LeoVegas have a good reputation? How well-known is the casino?
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Player Reputation | 7/10 | Generally, LeoVegas reviews were positive online, even if several negative reviews were scattered throughout. |
| Market Visibility | 10/10 | I was not surprised to see that LeoVegas is one of the most well-known online casino brands in Canada. |
| Well-known and generally liked |
|---|
| LeoVegas is one of the most recognizable casino brands in Canada, and its reputation is generally positive; hence, it earns a 17/20 grade for popularity. |
One worth roaring for
LeoVegas offers an experience worth roaring for. The welcome bonus is good, but then it becomes great when considering the 25x wagering requirements.
Other bonuses follow the welcome bonus in the form of weekly free spins, cashback on the live casino, and a VIP program, but I want to see more regular reload bonuses and tournaments.
Playing is what we came for, though, and the game selection at LeoVegas has almost everything we could be looking for. More than 3,500 games will do that. It’s a vibrant selection that is sure to entertain with its exclusive games and quality live dealer tables.
Most importantly, LeoVegas offers a secure and trustworthy platform with impressive responsible gambling resources. The mobile experience is one of the best around, as well.
If you don’t care about playing with cryptocurrencies, then LeoVegas scores higher, closer to an A+. Instead, it’s an A, as I conclude my LeoVegas review by giving the casino an 81.5/100 final grade.
