9 Coins Review
9 Coins Symbols and Payouts
9 Coins is a unique slot, but our review will begin with the basics, covering the game’s symbols, paylines, payouts, RTP and volatility, maximum win amount, and autoplay functions.
Game Symbols
9 Coins has no symbols in its base game. We did say it was a unique slot. Rather, the bonus symbols consist of Cash symbols, Cash Infinity symbols, Jackpot symbols, Mystery symbols, and a Collector symbol. We’ll go over these in more detail below, in the features section.
Number of Paylines
There are really no paylines in 9 Coins. Instead, players aim to unlock the Bonus round by landing any Bonus symbols in the middle row of the game board.
Payouts
Players must unlock 9 Coins’ Bonus round to receive payouts.
Min/Max bet
The minimum in 9 Coins is $0.20, and the maximum is $10,000. The maximum bet is high, and accommodates big spenders and large bankrolls well.
RTP and Volatility
With 9 Coins, Wazdan has created a game with a Return to Player (RTP) of 96.06%, on the slightly higher end of the spectrum. The game’s volatility is medium-to-high, which, understanding the game’s mechanics, makes sense, given 9 Coins only pays players out after its bonus round.
Maximum Win
9 Coins offers a maximum win of 500x the bet amount. With its max bet amount of $10,000, players are able to win $5,000,000 playing 9 Coins.
Autoplay
9 Coins’ autoplay functions are simple to use. The autoplay function is set with a button to the right of the Spin button, where players have the option to…
- Select the preset number of auto-spins (from 10 up to 1,000).
- Set to stop autoplay if…
- There is a win.
- The Bonus is activated.
- A single win exceeds the player’s set amount.
- The player’s cash total exceeds the player’s set amount.
- The player’s cash total decreases by the player’s set amount.
9 Coins slot special features
In many ways, the special features of 9 Coins are really what the game is all about. Players unlock the ‘Hold the Jackpot Bonus’ round by having any Bonus symbols complete the middle row of reels on the board. Let’s turn our 9 Coins review to look at those Bonus symbols and special features, and get a real grasp on how the game works.
Cash symbols
Cash symbols appear as gold coins with a number from 1x to 5x the bet on it.
Cash Infinity symbols
Cash Infinity symbols appear as red coins with a multiple of 5x to 10x the bet. These symbols can stick during the base game, allowing players to hold them until they are able to activate the Hold the Jackpot Bonus. If a Cash Infinity symbol lands in the middle row, it increases the odds of activating the Bonus round.
Jackpot symbols
Jackpot symbols of Mini, Minor, and Major reward players with 10x, 20x, or 50x the bet.
The Collector symbol
The Collector symbol, a chest with coins in it, can appear during the Hold the Jackpot Bonus round. It functions as a multiplier symbol, accumulating all of the board’s Cash and Cash Infinity symbols’ values when it appears, and multiplying them by a random amount of 1 to 9.
Mystery symbols
There are two types of Mystery symbols that transform at the end of the Bonus round in 9 Coins. Regular, red Mystery symbols transform into any other Bonus symbol, excluding the Cash Infinity symbols. Green Jackpot Mystery symbols transform into one of the Jackpot symbols.
Hold the Jackpot Bonus round
Landing any 3 Bonus symbols in the board’s middle row will activate the Hold the Jackpot Bonus round – and this is when 9 Coins really takes off and becomes super-fun.
During the Bonus round, all symbols become Sticky, starting with the middle row that activated the Bonus round. Players are given 3 re-spins to begin the round. Any Bonus symbol that lands on any reel during the 3 re-spins sticks and resets the re-spin total back to 3. Players continue to re-spin until they have run out of re-spins or filled all 9 reels on the board.
When the Bonus round ends, the player is paid out the sum of all of the values on the board, including any Jackpot amounts. The exception is if all 9 reels are filled in. If this happens, this activates the Grand Jackpot, and immediately pays out the game’s maximum amount of 500x the bet.
Gamble Feature
9 Coins includes a Gamble feature, whereby players can opt to gamble the total of their Bonus round winnings on a coin flip. Players can choose to do this up to seven times over (or up to a maximum win amount of $5,000,000).
Buy Feature
For those players who don’t like to wait for the Bonus round, Wazdan has included a Buy feature in 9 Coins that guarantees it to hit. Players have four Buy options in 9 Coins:
- A Low buy costs 50x the bet, and guarantees two Cash symbols and one Cash Infinity symbol.
- A Standard buy costs 75x the bet, and guarantees one Cash symbol, one Cash Infinity symbol, and one regular Mystery symbol.
- A High buy costs 100x the bet, and guarantees two Cash Infinity symbols and one regular Mystery symbol.
- An Extreme buy costs 150x the bet, and guarantees two Cash Infinity symbols, one regular Mystery symbol, and one Jackpot Mystery symbol.
9 Coins graphics and sound
Let’s turn our 9 Coins review to the game’s graphics and sound. A gentle, atmospheric beat floats in the background of the base game. Clean sound effects compliment the clean graphics. A good use of colours dominates the design, with finer details, such as the middle reels’ framing or the shading on buttons, providing the game with a polished look. Things don’t change drastically for the Bonus round, although a thumping bass kick adds urgency to the feel and more excitement to the moment. The graphics spark up more during the Bonus round as well, adding flare, while also slowing the reels a bit to add to the anticipation of every Bonus spin. Wazdan offers a simple-looking, comfortable game with a touch of flash with 9 Coins. It all fits together quite nicely, and provides players with both a good-looking and good-sounding slot.

9 Coins mobile experience
Like the majority of Wazdan’s games, 9 Coins gives players an excellent mobile experience. It’s a smooth transition moving from the desktop to a mobile device, and the game’s clean look only seems to improve on smaller screens. We didn’t find any issues with the mobile version of 9 Coins.
