CrownGold Review
Every one of our casino reviews utilizes the methodology we outline on our ‘How We Review Casinos‘ page, including this CrownGold review. The methodology arranges the review into six sections:
- CrownGold’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
- Bonuses and offers from CrownGold
- Payment methods accepted by CrownGold
- CrownGold’s game selection
- The user experience at CrownGold
- Popularity of CrownGold
CrownGold’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
When reviewing the best online casinos in Canada, we always begin at the most important point: with player safety. My CrownGold review uncovers the casino’s licence, rates its responsible gambling page, and considers its security features.
| Legal gambling age |
|---|
| The legal gambling age in Canada is 19 years old, although in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec, the legal gambling age is 18. Online casino operators must ensure minors do not gamble and, therefore, verify players’ age. Gambling is regulated at the provincial level in Canada. Ontario’s gambling, for example, is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Visit our Licensing page for more information. |
CrownGold’s licences
CrownGold’s licence is listed on the website’s footer, along with a verification link:
- Kahnawake Gaming Commission – Licence No. 00940
Responsible gambling in CrownGold
CrownGold has a Responsible Gambling page that is pretty flush with resources:
- Basic responsible gambling advice
- Options to set limits for deposits, losses, wagers, and session lengths
- Options to set cooling-off periods or arrange self-exclusions
- Access to game and transaction history
- Multiple links to Help organizations
- Multiple links to parental control software
The one thing that CrownGold’s Responsible Gambling page doesn’t have is a self-assessment test or a link to one. That said, the page does suggest taking one, after asking a few brief questions of its own. So, it’s almost there.
Most significantly, though, the casino offers numerous tools for setting limits, which is excellent. I do wish those tools could be set within the player’s account, rather than having to contact support to arrange them, but the fact that they are an option is most important. Yes, reality checks and session timers would be nice to have, too, but CrownGold has done a great job here.
| Addiction risk: play responsibly |
|---|
| Casino games are intended to be fun, but if players do not exercise safe play practices, gambling can become addictive and lead to harmful consequences. We therefore encourage players to look out for the following signs that might indicate problem gambling: – Chasing losses – Playing more than planned – Wagering more than intended – Hiding your playing from others – Borrowing money to gamble If you recognize any of these signs, consider contacting one of the following help organizations: – ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) – The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) – Canada Safety Council |
What makes CrownGold safe
It’s always wise to take a look at how transparent a casino is about its website security and player protection, so I went through CrownGold’s website looking for that sort of information, and this is what I found:
- PCI DSS compliant
- Compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Data Protection Officer
- Two-factor authentication option
- All games use Random Number Generators (RNGs) to ensure fair outcomes
- Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and KYC Policy
CrownGold uses some ambiguous language, like “maximum protection” or “best business practices,” to describe its website security, although it does provide enough specifics to be reliable beyond its licence. Having a Data Protection Officer and two-factor authentication is great. I would appreciate a mention of whether the website is SSL-encrypted, though.
My rating of CrownGold’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
CrownGold is a safe and trustworthy casino for players in Canada.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Licences | 7/7 | We love seeing licences from Canadian regulators like the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, and CrownGold shares its information on every page of the casino’s website. |
| Responsible Gambling | 6.5/7 | The Responsible Gambling page at CrownGold is full of tools, resources, and advice, missing almost nothing. |
| Security | 5/6 | There’s no mention of website encryption, but CrownGold is transparent with its website security otherwise, and it’s strong. |
| Strong and reliable |
|---|
| CrownGold has almost everything players could want in terms of player safety, earning a very strong 18.5/20 rating. |
Bonuses and offers at CrownGold
Let’s check out the casino bonuses, shall we?! This is when I get to turn my Big Boost review to the casino’s welcome bonus, regular bonuses, tournaments, and VIP program.
| Bonus risks |
|---|
| Players should be aware that bonuses come with wagering requirements that must be met to gain the bonus money. Often, they require players to bet the bonus amount 30 or 40 or more times over. Over 80% of players lose money with casino bonuses. |
Big Boost’s welcome bonus
What do you think Big Boost offers its new players with its casino welcome bonus? Ya, it’s obvious: a big boost, of course.

New players can claim a welcome bonus of up to $3,500 and 350 free spins with their first five deposits of at least $30.
The bonus money and free spins have 40x wagering requirements that must be met within 14 days. Free spins are granted on specific slots. Here’s how the offer breaks down:
| Deposit | Match % | Match Amount | Free Spins | Slot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | 100% | Up to $300 | 100 | Big Bass Splash |
| 2nd | 75% | Up to $500 | 75 | Gates of Olympus |
| 3rd | 50% | Up to $700 | 50 | The Dog House |
| 4th | 50% | Up to $1,000 | 50 | Sugar Rush |
| 5th | 75% | Up to $1,000 | 75 | Big Bass Bonanza |
Several good things come with CrownGold’s welcome bonus. The total match amount is solid at $3,500, as are the 350 free spins – fantastic. The games those free spins are good for are all huge Pragmatic Play hits: that’s good.
I do like packages that last longer, over multiple deposits, like this offer. That players have 14 days to meet the requirements is also a good thing.
But that’s also where I can level my first criticism of the bonus: those requirements are a bit high at 40x. I mean, 40x is more or less the industry average, but it’s on the “more” side of that equation.
I’d also like to see better match percentages. The 100% to start is great, but of course, that’s also the lowest of the match amounts. The offer would be more appealing with higher percentages for the majority of the deposit matches.
Regular bonuses
CrownGold offers a bonus almost every day of the week:
- Monday Spin Riches: On Mondays, players using code MONFS can claim up to 100 free spins (40x wagering) on Gold Rush with Johnny Cash, depending on their deposit:
- $45 deposit = 50 free spins
- $67.50 deposit = 75 free spins
- $90 deposit = 100 free spins
- Wednesday Royal Treat: Every Wednesday, players can claim 55% up to $450 and 40 free spins on Aloha King Elvis with a minimum deposit of $75. Players must use code TREAT when depositing, and the offer comes with 40x wagering requirements.
- Friday Spin Fiesta: On Fridays, players can claim up to 247 free spins (30x wagering) with three different deposits:
- $60 deposit for 69 free spins (code: FRI69)
- $90 deposit for 79 free spins (code: FRI79)
- $105 deposit for 99 free spins (code: FRI99)
Free spins are available for one day and are good for the following slots: Dragon Age, Gems and Cash, and
The Slotfather Books of Wins
- Saturday Spin Blast: On Saturdays, players can claim 100 free spins (40x wagering) on Elvis Frog in Vegas with a minimum deposit of $150 with code BLAST.
- Reel Sunday Deal: On Sundays, players can claim 200 free spins (40x wagering) on Lucky Crown Hold and Win with a deposit of at least $105 with code SUNFS.
Promotion and tournaments
6 tournaments were running during my CrownGold review, including a pair of in-house competitions and multiple provider tournaments. Prize pools ranged from 15,000 free spins to $40,000,000.
CrownGold’s VIP/loyalty program
The more slots players at CrownGold play, the more Gpoints they collect, which go towards the player’s standing in the casino’s loyalty program. One Gpoint is earned for every $75 wagered. Players then receive bonus money or free spins for reaching higher levels of the 10-level program.

In addition to the loyalty program, CrownGold also has a VIP program. Players are chosen by the casino’s VIP team. Of course, the more active the player, the more likely they are to gain the attention of the VIP team. Being a VIP give players access to special VIP casino bonuses, personal account management, and withdrawal priority standing.
My rating of bonuses available at CrownGold
Improving the welcome bonus is the biggest thing CrownGold could do to make its bonus program better.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome Bonus | 5/7 | CrownGold’s welcome bonus includes many positives, but also a few negatives. |
| Regular Offers | 3.5/4 | The bonus program is consistent, and CrownGold offers several tournaments, but the minimum deposit amounts and wagering requirements aren’t always the friendliest. |
| VIP/Loyalty Program | 3.5/4 | CrownGold has a loyalty program and a VIP program, both with great benefits, but I would like to see some of the VIP benefits included in the loyalty program for easier access. |
| A tad short of great |
|---|
| Better match percentages and improved wagering requirements for the welcome bonus in particular would increase CrownGold’s 12/15 rating. |
Payment methods at CrownGold in Canada
CrownGold accepts a variety of casino payment methods in Canada, including debit/credit cards, e-wallets, and vouchers. What’s particularly nice is that the casino accepts most methods for withdrawals as well.
| Payment Method | Min Deposit | Max Withdrawal | Average Deposit Time | Average Withdrawal Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interac | $30 | $3,000 | Instant | 2-5 banking days |
| Visa | $20 | $4,000 | Instant | 2-5 banking days |
| Mastercard | $20 | $4,000 | Instant | 2-5 banking days |
| Flexepin | $20 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| MiFinity | $20 | $4,000 | Instant | 1-3 banking days |
| MuchBetter | $20 | N/A | Instant | N/A |
| Bank transfer | N/A | $4,000 | N/A | 3-5 banking days |
| Financial risks |
|---|
| Gambling involves real money. It involves financial risk. Casinos do not open their doors without being favoured to win, which means most players lose over time. This is a reminder to set limits before playing and only gamble what you can afford to lose. |
Minimum deposit and withdrawal processing times
The minimum deposit amount at CrownGold is $20, as is the minimum withdrawal. They’re solid amounts.
CrownGold claims to process withdrawal requests within 24 hours, and that, depending on your payment method, the transaction can take up to 3 to 5 banking days more before reaching your account.
Cryptocurrency accepted at CrownGold in Canada
A good variety of cryptocurrencies is accepted by CrownGold in Canada. The minimum deposit and withdrawal is $20, and the maximum withdrawal is $4,000. These are the accepted cryptocurrencies at CrownGold:
| The dangers of using cryptocurrency |
|---|
| Playing with cryptocurrencies comes with risks, as their values are highly volatile and fluctuate rapidly. The Government of Canada, the Bank of Canada, or other financial institutions do not back crypto. Crypto is not stable nor guaranteed, which leaves users vulnerable to losing large amounts of money. We strongly recommend setting financial limits and investing only what you can afford to lose. |
Step-by-step guide on how to withdraw from CrownGold
- Click the green wallet icon in the top right.
- Select the “Withdrawal” tab.
- Choose your banking method.
- Input the withdrawal amount.
- Enter any required information related to the chosen banking method.
- Click “Withdraw…”
Other important information to know when withdrawing from CrownGold:
- Deposits must be wagered three times before being approved for withdrawal.
- CrownGold may request verification documents before processing withdrawal requests. In that event, the casino will request documents that verify the following:
- ID
- Payment systems used
- Proof of residential address
My rating of CrownGold’s payment methods
Everything about CrownGold’s payment services is good, but I could see it being even better.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Options | 6/7 | CrownGold accepts a solid variety of payment methods for both depositing and withdrawing. |
| Minimum Deposit & Payment Processing Times | 3.5/4 | The minimum amounts and processing times are both good at CrownGold. |
| Cryptocurrency | 3/4 | Again, CrownGold accepts a solid variety of cryptocurrencies. |
| Good stuff |
|---|
| CrownGold is a reliable casino for its deposits and withdrawals, even if its 12.5/15 rating suggests there’s room to grow. |
CrownGold’s games selection
Let’s get into the fun stuff, though – what’s the game selection at CrownGold like? Here, I assess the casino’s online slots, live tables, game shows, and its game providers.

| Casino games warning |
|---|
| Players need to keep in mind that casino games are games of chance. While licensed games are tested by third parties for fairness, they are also weighted in favour of the casino. The house always has an edge. Most players, therefore, lose over time. It’s why we like to remind players that casino games are a form of entertainment, not a source of income. |
Recommended slots you can play at CrownGold
CrownGold has a large selection of online slots available for play in Canada. While the selection is great, what I really appreciate is how CrownGold has organized its library. Check out the “Collections” page for nearly 60 different game categories, including megaways slots, cascading slots, and high volatility slots.

These are a few slots I suggest trying at CrownGold:
Plenty of live dealer tables at CrownGold in Canada
CrownGold holds more than 500 live casino games, including almost 250 blackjack tables, over 200 roulette tables, and nearly 80 baccarat tables. There are also options for Andar Bahar, sic bo, Teen Patti, dragon tiger, and poker.

Game shows you can play at CrownGold
A small selection of game shows is available at CrownGold, but there are some big hits in the collection, including Money Drop Live, Spin A Win, and Mega Fire Blaze Lucky Ball Live.

Popular game providers CrownGold works with
Over 70 game providers work with CrownGold in Canada. It’s a good list of strong studios, such as BGaming, Playson, InOut, Novomatic, Spinomenal, 3 Oaks Gaming, KA Gaming, Betsoft Gaming, and Playtech.
My rating of CrownGold’s games selection
A pretty stellar collection of games awaits players in CrownGold.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Games Variety | 6.5/7 | It’s a large selection in CrownGold, and it’s well organized, but it could use some exclusive games. |
| Live Casino Experience | 4/4 | CrownGold has a huge selection of live tables from multiple providers. |
| Game Providers | 3/4 | Over 70 quality studios supply CrownGold with casino games, but I’ve seen bigger rosters than that. |
| A lot of what you want |
|---|
| CrownGold has an organized selection of top casino games, earning a 13.5/15 rating. |
User experience at CrownGold
Here, I turn my CrownGold review to the user experience inside the casino. I’ll look first at the casino’s customer support, then the navigation of its website, and finally its performance on mobile devices.
CrownGold’s customer support
A reasonable FAQ page anchors the support experience at CrownGold. Some of the responses could probably be more useful, but it isn’t bad.
What is kind of bad, at least from the perspective of this CrownGold review, is that there is no live chat support, only an email address and a form (that acts as an email). Most online casinos do better than this.
| Contact | Average Answer Time | |
|---|---|---|
| [email protected] | 24 hours |
User navigation at CrownGold
CrownGold is pretty easy to get around in. It’s a pretty basic-looking interface, too. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as navigation is super super.
What I love about CrownGold is, as I mentioned above, the work it’s done to organize its game library. Close to 60 game categories is superb work. It deserves praise. I wish every casino were this organized.
CrownGold mobile experience
While CrownGold is a little plain on a computer or laptop, it looks far more slicker on mobile devices. Yes, CrownGold is optimized for mobile use and performs well on phones and tablets.
That being the case, players looking for a mobile app, as many of the best mobile casinos in Canada have, will need to go elsewhere, as the casino does not have a mobile app.

My rating of CrownGold’s user experience
The lack of customer support channels really lets down CrownGold’s user experience.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Support | 3.5/7 | The FAQ page isn’t bad at CrownGold, but the fact that there is no live chat support kind of is bad. |
| User Navigation | 4/4 | Straight and simple, but most significantly, CrownGold has put in the work to organize its game library. |
| Mobile Experience | 3/4 | A fully optimized website performs well on mobile devices, but CrownGold does not have a mobile app. |
| Really? No live support? |
|---|
| Offering support via a 24/7 live chat would greatly improve CrownGold’s 10.5/15 rating. |
Popularity of CrownGold
In the final section of my CrownGold review, I turn to online sources to gain an understanding of the public’s view of the casino. It’s a way for me to include you in this assessment.
| What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Player Reputation | 3.5/10 | It seems the public is less impressed with CrownGold than I have been, with more user reviews being negative than positive. |
| Market Visibility | 4/10 | I did not find many user reviews online and did not find any social media accounts either, but CrownGold was responding to reviews on TrustPilot, which is a good step. |
| Good start, but more to do |
|---|
| While CrownGold’s reputation needs work, it appears the casino is working towards improving that reputation, along with its visibility. It ends up with a 7.5/20 rating, though. |
Not a royal crown, but…
As a Canadian, I couldn’t help but think of typing a whisky brand our country is proud to stand behind every time I went to type CrownGold’s name, and while this casino isn’t exactly royal, it certainly has a lot to offer.
The casino has an excellent bonus program. That seems clear as soon as you peruse the offerings: near daily deals, tournaments, a loyalty program, and a VIP program.
Players won’t have a hard time depositing or withdrawing from CrownGold either, as the casino accepts many of Canada’s most popular forms of payment, including a decent range of cryptocurrencies.
All that before we get to the games. CrownGold’s library is superbly organized, which makes it a joy to search. With a live casino as large as CrownGold’s, players will find no shortage of live tables.
Yes, I really wish CrownGold had live chat support, but that is the only real complaint, as my CrownGold review concludes with a 74.5/100 final rating.
