Winlandia Review
This Winlandia review follows a strict guideline for how we rate casinos at CanadaCasino. Five pillars define our process for reviewing online casinos in Canada:
- Winlandia’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
- Bonuses and offers from Winlandia
- Payment methods accepted by Winlandia
- Winlandia’s game selection
- The user experience at Winlandia
Winlandia’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
Our casino reviews begin by assessing a casino’s safety measures, because our first priority is keeping players safe. My Winlandia review begins at the same place, taking a look at the casino’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security.
Legal gambling age |
---|
The legal gambling age in most Canadian provinces and territories is 19 years old (in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec, though, it is 18), meaning online casino operators must verify every player’s age to ensure minors do not gamble. Each province and territory is regulated provincially. For example, gambling in Ontario is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Visit our Licensing page for more information. |
Winlandia’s licences
Players can trust Winlandia, as the casino is licensed by one of the strongest regulators in the world:
- Malta Gaming Authority – Licence No. MGA/CRP/171/2009/06
I easily found the licence’s information and a link to the Malta Gaming Authority on the website’s footer.
Responsible gambling in Winlandia
When it comes to responsible gambling, Winlandia takes it seriously. The page is loaded with truly useful information, including gambling advice, relevant links (to several help organizations and parental control tools), and a self-assessment test.
Players have the ability to set deposit limits from within their player account, but what I really liked was that setting them was a part of Winlandia’s registration process. That’s awesome.
Also set within the player account are timed reality checks and various player limitations (cooling-off periods for a day up to a week or temporary suspensions from a month to 3 months). Self-exclusions for longer periods can be arranged by contacting the casino’s support team. Similarly, players can arrange, via support, time limit controls that automatically log them out of their accounts after a certain time.
Winlandia is missing very little. I would like to see tools for limiting losses and wagers, not only deposits and session lengths, but those are the only places Winlandia falls short when it comes to responsible gambling.
Addiction risk: play responsibly |
---|
While casino games are meant to be fun, gambling can become addictive and lead to harmful consequences if players do not play responsibly. With this in mind, we encourage players to look out for signs that might indicate problem gambling: – Chasing losses – Playing for longer than intended – Gambling with more money than intended – Disguising gambling activity from other people – Borrowing money to gamble If you recognize any of these signs, consider contacting any of the following help organizations: – ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) – Gamblers Anonymous Canada – Gambling Therapy |
What makes Winlandia safe
These are the security measures I found during my Winlandia review that the casino has employed to keep players safe:
- The website is encrypted and authenticated using the following:
- TLS 1.2 (a strong protocol)
- ECDHE_RSA with X25519 (a strong key exchange)
- AES_128_GCM (a strong cipher)
- Third-party anti-fraud and anti-money laundering checks
- Detailed Terms And Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Bonus Policy
- Games use Random Number Generators for guaranteed fair outcomes
It’s great that Winlandia provides detailed information about its encryption, and the casino is generally very detailed in its approach, which is great. I couldn’t find any proper information about anti-money laundering, though.
My rating of Winlandia’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security: 28.5/30
It’s mostly nitpicking to be critical of Winlandia’s safety and trustworthiness.
What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
---|---|---|
Licenses | 10/10 | A licence from the Malta Gaming Authority is a globally recognized licence from one of the world’s strongest regulators. The information was easy to find in Winlandia. |
Responsible Gambling | 9.5/10 | There is so little missing from Winlandia’s responsible gambling page. I love that deposit limits are thrust upon players during registration. |
Security | 9/10 | Winlandia is a secure casino, and the information about the security is easy to find. A lack of a proper AML policy hurts the score. |
Bonuses and offers at Winlandia
Ok, now that I’ve got a lot of technical stuff out of the way, I’ll turn my Winlandia review to more exciting focal points: casino bonuses.
Bonus risks |
---|
Players should be aware that bonuses come with wagering requirements that must be met to gain the bonus money. Often, they require players to bet the bonus amount 30 or 40 or more times over. Over 80% of players lose money with casino bonuses. |
Winlandia welcome bonus

I’m used to seeing casino welcome bonuses with large bonus money totals, typically in the thousands, so when I say Winlandia’s offer of a 100% match of up to $100 and 77 free spins, I was taken a bit aback – for the wrong reasons.
“Ok,” I told myself, “the wagering requirements must be great.”
The 30x bonus wagering is pretty good. It’s what I consider the friendly/low end of the industry standard (40x would be the high end of that standard).
“Good, ok – I can appreciate that then.”
The 60x free spins wagering, though, is definitely high. Any goodwill I felt for my Winlandia review after reading the bonus wagering is gone after reading the free spins wagering.
There are only 77 free spins, too, which is also low, relative to what I’m used to seeing for welcome bonuses (between 100 and 300 free spins is typical).
It’s nice that players have 30 days to meet the requirements, and that the minimum deposit is $20, but the best thing about Winlandia’s welcome bonus might be that the free spins are good for Big Bass Bonanza, an industry hit and bona fide catch.
Winlandia’s regular bonuses
Winlandia offers one regular free spins offer:
- Mystery Reward: Players can opt in for Winlandia’s Mystery Reward, which consists of 15 free spins on Spinning Wild if the player has made 100 uninterrupted spins on Thor: The Trials of Asgard. Winnings from free spins come with 60x wagering requirements that must be met within 30 days. Like the welcome bonus, the offer is underwhelming, and the requirements are strict.
Promotions and tournaments
Four tournaments were available during my Winlandia review, including daily and weekly competitions with prize pools ranging from $100 to $2,000. Additional promotions included much larger competitions, such as €2,000,000 monthly prize pools for drops & wins. It was a pretty good variety, even if I’ve seen larger prize pools at other casinos in Canada.
Winlandia’s VIP/loyalty program
Winlandia’s loyalty program, which the casino calls “Levels,” is mysterious. There is a Levels progress bar at the top of the screen of the home page that shows your progress. The more you play, the more points you gain and, eventually, advance in levels. When you reach certain levels, you receive a reward that comes from a large bucket of VIP casino bonuses, mostly, as customer support explained to me, in the form of free spins. Everything is very vague, but there are good graphics that show your progress through the levels.
My rating of bonuses available at Winlandia: 8/20
The bonuses available from Winlandia are usually underwhelming. Free spins, which comprise many of the casino’s available bonuses, come with poor wagering requirements.
What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
---|---|---|
Welcome Bonus | 4.5/10 | Relative to other casino welcome bonuses, Winlandia’s really isn’t very impressive. $100 is a small amount, and 77 free spins aren’t a large number either. The 30x bonus wagering with a 30-day window to match is good, but the 60x free spins wagering is poor. |
Regular Offers | 1/5 | There’s only one regular bonus, a free spins offer, available from Winlandia. The number of tournaments the casino hosts is great. |
VIP/Loyalty Program | 2.5/5 | The VIP program at Winlandia is too vague on the details to be too excited about. Bonuses usually come in the form of free spins with poor terms, too. |
Payment methods at Winlandia in Canada
The best thing about Winlandia is that the casino payment methods it accepts, it accepts for both deposit and withdrawal. Players need to activate a payment method by depositing with it first. Winlandia accepts a good number of payment methods in Canada:
Financial risks |
---|
This is a reminder that gambling involves real money and, therefore, financial risk. Casinos do not open their doors without being favoured to win, which means most players lose over time. This is a reminder to set limits before playing and only gamble what you can afford to lose. |
Minimum deposit and withdrawal processing times
Winlandia’s minimum deposit is the same as its minimum withdrawal: $10. This is a low amount for both, especially withdrawals. Withdrawals are processed within 48 hours, but usually much quicker, within a few hours.
Cryptocurrency accepted at Winlandia in Canada
Winlandia, unfortunately, does not accept cryptocurrencies in Canada.
The dangers of using cryptocurrency |
---|
Players should note that using cryptocurrency comes with risks. Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile, with their values oftentimes fluctuating rapidly. The Government of Canada, the Bank of Canada, or other financial institutions do not back crypto; it is not stable nor guaranteed, which leaves users vulnerable to losing large amounts of money. We strongly recommend setting financial limits and investing only what you can afford to lose. |
Step-by-step guide on how to withdraw from Winlandia
Players will need to verify their identity with Winlandia before a withdrawal will be processed (I cover that below), but once verified, you’ll have no problems withdrawing. Here’s what to do:
- Click the green “Deposit” button in the top right.
- Select the “Withdraw” tab.
- Choose the withdrawal method.
- Enter the amount to be withdrawn.
- Enter the requested information related to the banking method.
- Click “Withdraw.”
Other important information to know when withdrawing
As mentioned above, players will need to verify with Winladia before withdrawing. Here’s what that process looks like:
- You will need to upload these documents to your player account in Winlandia:
- Proof of ID
- Proof of registered address
- Proof of ownership of certain payment methods.
- To avoid delaying a withdrawal, players are encouraged to complete this process as soon as they open their account
Players should also note that wagering requirements must be met to withdraw from Winlandia.
My rating of Winlandia’s payment methods: 14/20
My rating of Winladia’s payment methods would almost be perfect if I didn’t count cryptocurrencies.
What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
---|---|---|
Payment Options | 9/10 | Winlandia accepts a good variety of the most popular payment methods in Canada. It could use a few more e-wallets, but the fact that all methods can be used for depositing and withdrawing is great. |
Minimum Deposit & Payment Processing Times | 5/5 | The casino’s minimum deposit amounts are low, and its processing times are fast. |
Cryptocurrency | 0/5 | Cryptocurrencies are not accepted at Winlandia in Canada. |
Winlandia’s games selection
Winlandia has a large selection of almost 6,000 casino games. Here, I’ll turn my Winlandia review to inspecting the casino’s exclusive games, online slots, live casino, game shows, and game provider list.

Casino games warning |
---|
Players need to keep sight of the fact that casino games are a game of chance. While licensed games are tested by third parties for fairness, they are also weighted in favour of the casino. Most players, therefore, lose over time. It’s why we like to remind players that casino games are a form of entertainment, not a way to make money. |
Exclusive games at Winlandia
I love a casino that offers its own exclusive games, and Winlandia rose to the occasion with its list of over 30 original titles. There are quite a few roulette and blackjack tables, but I also liked seeing Ninja Master, Book of Magic, and Treasures of the Lost Stones.

Recommended slots you can play at Winlandia
If you like online slots, Winlandia probably has you covered with a few of its almost 5,400 slots. Numerous game categories, from bonus buy slots and crash games to fish-, Egyptian-, and Vegas-themes, line the home page, and several filters can be applied in the search menu. It’s a great selection of popular games, which includes a pair of my favourites in Phoenix DuelReels and Hyper Gold All In.
Quality live dealer tables at Winlandia in Canada
The live casino at Winlandia has close to 300 games. Blackjack players will be most impressed by the selection, as there are more than 150 live blackjack tables at Winlandia. The library is completed by another 50+ roulette tables and 40+ baccarat tables, along with options for sic bo and poker. It’d be nice if there were more poker tables, though.

Game shows you can play at Winlandia
More than 30 game shows populate the Winlandia game library in Canada. Dice City, Treasure Island, and Buffalo Blitz are some of the exciting options.

Popular game providers Winlandia works with
The list of game providers working with Winlandia in Canada is strong. Contributors include Hacksaw Gaming, GameBurger, 4 the Player, Yggdrasil, Thunderkick, Wazdan, Spirbe, and Push Gaming. Over 70 providers are part of the Winlandia team, although 29 of them contribute less than 10 games.
My rating of Winlandia’s games selection: 19/20
The game selection offered from Winlandia’s library doesn’t miss much.
What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
---|---|---|
Games Variety | 10/10 | It’s big, well-organized, offers its own exclusive games, and includes some of my personal favs. |
Live Casino Experience | 4.5/5 | It isn’t a small live casino selection at Winlandia, but it could use more poker tables. |
Game Providers | 4.5/5 | The list is strong, and the number of casinos is great. There are too many providers that only contribute 1 or 4 titles, though. I’m disappointed there aren’t more titles from those providers, as the relationship is already there. |
User experience at Winlandia
Before I wrap up my Winlandia review, I need to share my overall impression of the casino’s user experience. Here, I examine Winlandia’s customer support, website navigation, and mobile experience.
Winlandia’s customer support
Winlandia’s main customer support avenue is the 24/7 live chat. Only by opening the chat will you find the casino’s FAQ page. Here are some of Winlandia’s support features:
- email: [email protected]
- English and French are supported
- 5-10 minute response times from the live chat agent
- FAQ page
The Winlandia customer support agents weren’t the fastest (they were attentive, though), but what was more frustrating was that they never answered questions clearly, seemingly always giving me vague, unhelpful responses. I didn’t like that the FAQ page seemed hidden, either.
User navigation at Winlandia
For my Winlandia review, I will share my experience navigating the casino’s website:
- The casino has a familiar design with a main menu bar on the left and game categories across the top.
- For many menu items, such as promotions or your player account, a pop-up window opens that is, to put it plainly, tiny. I actually imagine it is too small for some users. It’s clumsy and doesn’t look good. It also wasn’t clear how to return to the root menu after selecting a submenu.
- Trying to view the footer on the home page is a lot of work, as more games continue to load at the bottom when I scroll there. It is a frustrating experience.
- The About Us page seems hidden (I know I found it once, but now I can’t find it again!).
- After clicking on my VIP progress bar at the top, a window opened showing a map of my overall progress. The window did not fit on the screen properly, though, so I couldn’t see the bottom of it, where my actual position on the map was.
- The best thing about Winlandia, though, is, as mentioned, the game organization. There is a long list of game categories in the casino lobby. That said, I would like to see all of the categories found in the lobby used as search filters as well.
In short, Winlandia’s game organization is great, but the overall user experience could be better.
Winlandia’s mobile experience
Winlandia is optimized for mobile use, although, unlike many of the best mobile casinos in Canada, it does not have a mobile app.
Players won’t have any issues playing at Winlandia on their phone or tablet, though, as the casino was designed to translate smoothly to mobile browsers and does. The small pop-up windows look much better on smaller screens, too.
My rating of Winlandia’s user experience: 6.5/10
There is room for improvement with Winlandia’s user experience, even if the casino has done a great job with game categories and search functions.
What I checked | Score | Why this score? |
---|---|---|
Customer Support | 3/5 | The live chat agents were attentive, but slow to respond. They were also difficult to get helpful answers from. Access to the FAQ page needs to be easier. |
User Navigation | 1.5/2.5 | Winlandia is designed in its own unique way, and much of it is frustrating. The small window pop-ups are too small and don’t always function well. The casino has done a great job with game categories and the organization of its game library, though. |
Mobile Experience | 2/2.5 | Winlandia works well on mobile devices, but it does not have its own app. |
Taking the wins when you can get them
Winlandia is a winning casino when it comes to its game library. Jammed with close to 6,000 games, including almost 300 live casino games (blackjack players, particularly, will find a home here), the casino does a great job of providing players in Canada with a varied selection of quality games. The library is, in short, excellent.
That isn’t the casino’s only win, though. With a licence from one of the most reputable regulators in the world and a responsible gambling page that is top-tier, Winlandia stacks a few important ‘W’s pretty quickly.
Winlandia accepts some of the most popular fiat payment methods in Canada, which is another win, but where one finds a win, one can often find a loss or two as well, and we get one here: Winlandia does not accept any cryptocurrencies. That’s an ‘L.’
If I wanted to highlight more of the casino’s losses, then I would direct you to take a look at Winlandia’s bonus program: it’s hard to find wins there, which is tough to write because I know players are keen on bonuses.
There were a couple of other small losses and a few other small wins, which is why I’ll conclude my Winlandia review with a 76/100 final grade.
