GGPoker licensing, responsible gambling, and security
GGPoker has a recognized licence, strong RG features, and overall, a good approach to player security.
Legal Gambling Age
GGPoker players must be over 18 to join, but in some Canadian provinces you need to be 19. Trustworthy operators will always verify your age during KYC processes since it’s a legal requirement. To learn more about safe and responsible play, visit the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA).

Responsible Gaming in GGPoker
GGPoker has a dedicated RG page, which you can access via the app. There’s a list of reminders to help players play safely, with questions they can ask themselves to identify whether they have problematic gambling behaviours. GGPoker also lists GamCare, GA, Gambling Therapy, the NCPG, and the IGC as external resources that offer support.
As for tools, there are different options available directly in the app. Navigate to “My Page” and select “Responsible Gaming” from the bottom of the list. You can set daily, weekly, and monthly net deposit limits and loss limits. Self-exclusion is available with three options: cooling-off, timeout, or full self-exclusion. Cooling-off periods last either 24 hours or 72 hours, while timeouts last up to 120 days. Self-exclusion starts at 180 days, lasting up to five years, or even permanently.
Addiction risk: play responsibly
Casino games should only be used for entertainment purposes, not as a source of income. Any form of gambling can become addictive and harmful to yourself and those around you. You can learn more on our Responsible Gambling page. Look out for these warning signs of problem gambling: Chasing losses, hiding gambling activity from friends and family, spending more time or money than you can afford, borrowing money to fund gambling. If your gambling habits are becoming problematic, reach out to ConnexOntario, Gambling Therapy, or Gamblers Anonymous Canada.
What makes GGPoker safe

Bonuses and Offers at GGPoker
GGPoker has a lot going on with tournaments, promotions, and even a VIP program.
Bonus Risk Warning
GGPoker is vague when it comes to wagering requirements and minimum deposits. Most bonuses have a 30x wagering requirement, which means playing through the funds 30 times. Many players don’t profit from bonuses.
GGPoker Welcome Bonus
GGPoker has a new player deposit offer, awarding a 100% bonus up to $1,000 on their first deposit after registration. To qualify for the bonus, you need to successfully complete verification (KYC3). The bonus can be played on any of the slots and live casino titles available on the GGPoker app. Total winnings or redeemable cash from the bonus are capped at $50.
GGPoker Promotions and Tournaments
GGPoker promotions run regularly. For newcomers, there’s the 30-day Honeymoon challenge, with one mission to complete everyday for instant rewards. You can also claim your Daily Freebie from the promo tab. Just sign in to claim your free poker room ticket.
Other promotions include:
- Rush and Cash Friday
- GGMasters
- Weekly Freeroll on Saturdays
- Daily Freeroll
GGPoker VIP Program
GGPoker’s VIP program, known as Ocean Rewards, comes with eight levels. To advance your level, you need Tide Points. 100 TP are earned for every $1 rake generated in poker, while in the casino it’s 1 TP for every $2 wagered on slots or every $6 wagered on table games. Your cashback increases with each level, with the top level getting up to 80%. You also earn GEMs, which are promotional credits based on your gameplay activity. With each level, your GEMs multiplier increases.
Our rating of Bonuses available at GGPoker

| VIP/Loyalty Program | 4/4 | GGPoker’s VIP program is structured, with decent rewards. |
Payment methods in GGPoker
GGPoker currently accepts VISA and Mastercard, which are reliable, secure options. However, it’s a limiting list for Canadian players since there aren’t any popular e-wallets like MuchBetter or Interac.
Financial Risk Warning
Gambling always involves a risk since it deals with your real money. The casino will always have the house edge, meaning many players lose out over time. Make sure you only gamble what you can afford to lose, so set a budget and stick to it.
Minimum Deposit & Withdrawal Processing Times
The minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts depend on the payment method you’re using. It takes 24 hours to process withdrawals, but it can take up to three days in cases where additional verification is required or where delays occur.
How to withdraw from GGPoker
- Click on the “Cashier” button.
- Select the Withdrawal tab.
- Choose your preferred payment method.
- Enter how much you want to withdraw.
- Enter any payment information.
Other important information to know when withdrawing
- Verification is required to make deposits and withdrawals.
- For withdrawals of over €3,000 (or the CAD equivalent), additional verification is needed.
- Before requesting a withdrawal, all deposits must go through “Sufficient Gameplay”. The exact playthrough requirement isn’t disclosed.
- According to customer support, the maximum daily, weekly, and monthly withdrawal amounts for unverified accounts is $500 USD (or CAD equivalent).
- That maximum limit for daily, weekly, and monthly withdrawals is $50,000 USD (or CAD equivalent) for verified accounts.
Documents and information to share with GGPoker
If verification is requested, GGPoker will ask for the following documents:
- Proof of ID: copy of a government-issued ID/passport/driving licence
- Proof of address: copy of a bank statement/utility bill/tax bill not older than 90 days

| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|

| Minimum Deposit & Payment Processing Times | 2/4 | Minimum values vary according to your chosen payment method, but withdrawal times are decent. |
| Cryptocurrency | 1/4 | GGPoker doesn’t accept cryptocurrencies at this time. |
GGPoker’s Games Selection
GGPoker is known for its large number of poker rooms, making it a great choice for poker fans. The app has more than just poker rooms on offer, though. Slots, mini games, and table games, are some of what’s available.
Casino Games Warning
Online casino games are games of chance, meaning they’re for entertainment and not income. All licensed games will be weighted in favour of the casino, even though independent third parties audit them. Game rules and RTPs vary for each game, so different games contribute differently to the wagering requirements. Only play at casinos licensed by reputable regulators, like the MGA or the UKGC.
Exclusive Games
GGPoker has its own slots and table games available, produced by GGVegas Originals. You’ll find plenty of options for table games, two crash games called Chicken Crash and Shark Crash, and several slots, like Clash of Rome, Robo Rush, and Wild Jungle. Head to the GGVegas Originals tab to see the full collection.
Recommended slots at GGPoker
Besides its GGVegas slot collection, GGPoker houses slots from top providers, too. It’s not the biggest slot offering on the market, but there are many popular favourites, like:
- Big Bass Splash
- Gates of Olympus 1,000
- Book of Dead
- Reactoonz
Jackpots are available, too, along with tabs dedicated to Megaways games, Slingo, and bonus buys.
Live dealer tables available in GGPoker
When you enter the app, you’ll see the main navbar has tabs for many different poker variant rooms. With each one, you can choose your buy-in amount and join a poker room. There are hundreds of poker rooms available.
The live casino section features live dealer tables for baccarat, blackjack, Sic Bo, roulette, poker, and other card games. Providers like Pragmatic Play and Skywind Group contribute to this section of the game library.
Game Shows you can play in GGPoker
The game shows tab houses plenty of game shows at GGPoker, including Treasure Island, Dice City and Mega Wheel.
Popular Game Providers at GGPoker
GGPoker doesn’t have a lot of providers on its list, but there are lots of big names. Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Hacksaw Gaming, Evolution, and Playtech are some of the providers that contribute to GGPoker’s game library.
Our rating of GGPoker’s Games Selection
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Games Variety | 7/7 | Vast collection of poker tables, with a good variety of slots, jackpots, and other games. |
| Live Casino Experience | 4/4 | Good mix of live dealer options and game shows. |
| Game Providers | 2/4 | It’s a smaller list of providers, but it includes several top names. |
User Experience at GGPoker
GGPoker takes some getting used to, especially the first time. Customer support was decent overall.
GGPoker’s Customer Support
Customer support is available via email and live chat. The live chat is available 24/7 but it’s operated by a chatbot. I didn’t find the chatbot that helpful since its scripted answers were vague and repeated the Terms and Conditions.
I asked for a human agent and the bot told me they’d be in touch. After that, I started communicating with support via email. The responses I received were much better, since the human agent took the time to give more information. However, when I asked about wagering requirements, the next email said my query was escalated to the Cashier Department, and after 10 hours I didn’t have an answer.

An FAQs page isn’t available, but there are several guides on the GGPoker site providing assistance with things like making deposits and withdrawals and the house rules for each game.
User Navigation at GGPoker
GGPoker isn’t the most straightforward platform to use. The casino is entirely app based, so gameplay isn’t possible on desktop. You can create an account on desktop but then you need to download the app to use it. The desktop version of GGPoker only offers information on the platform.
As for the app, I did experience a lot of lag and slow loading times, but it runs well overall. I found it overwhelming at first as there are a lot of colours, animations, and the home page is very busy in general, so it takes time to get used to it. Finding games and poker rooms was easy enough, but finding my personal account settings wasn’t as clear cut.
Our rating of GGPoker’s User Experience
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Support | 4/7 | Email support had decent response times and good answers, but getting consistent support can feel difficult. |
| User Navigation | 2/4 | The app takes time to get used to. |
| Mobile Experience | 3/4 | GGPoker is only available as an app. It performs well but I did experience lag. |
Popularity of GGPoker
GGPoker doesn’t have the strongest rating on Trustpilot. It’s overall score is 1.3 stars, with a handful of five-star reviews. The negative reviews focus on not receiving the welcome bonus, poor customer support, accounts being blocked without reason, and issues with games. GGPoker only responds to the five-star reviews.
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Player Reputation | 3/10 | Online feedback for GGPoker leans to the negative, with poor player experience. |
| Market Visibility | 7/10 | GGPoker gets a lot of traffic online since it’s been around quite a while. |
GGPoker: refinement needed
For fans of poker, GGPoker is one of the best options when it comes to variety and scale. I also appreciate that they’ve taken the initiative to include other casino games, including their own original games. There’s so much going on in terms of promotions and tournaments, and the VIP program is definitely a plus. The RG suite was good too, which I always like to see.
However, there are areas that aren’t meeting expectations. The lack of payment methods is one, and the lack of clarity around promotions is another. Even as a registered user, I couldn’t find certain bonus terms, which can feel misleading. Customer support could also use some polishing, and the app could definitely be made simpler.
