Gates of Olympus 1000
During our Gates of Olympus 1000 slot review, we landed a hit every three or four spins for us, and that's both the good news and the bad. We played 60-odd real-money spins at Grand Mondial from $0.20 to $2 a pop. Zeus kept the balance ticking, but the 1,000x multipliers and the free spins stayed up on the mountain. If you’d rather test the waters first, the Gates of Olympus 1000 demo lets you try the tumbles and multipliers without risking a cent.

Gates of Olympus 1000 Review
Gates of Olympus 1000 is Pragmatic Play’s supercharged take on the original Gates of Olympus, moving Zeus to a bigger stage among the slots in Canada. Zeus still drops multipliers onto a 6×5 grid, but in this version they run all the way up to 1,000x, and the max win climbs to 15,000x your bet. We played it for real money at Grand Mondial Casino and checked every figure on this page against Pragmatic Play’s game page and the in-game rules on October 28, 2026.
Symbols pay anywhere on the grid once eight or more match, and every win sets off a tumble. The RTP is 96.50%, volatility is high, and bets at Grand Mondial run from $0.20 to $20.
OPINION: The same old god with a bigger thunderbolt
I knew what I was getting before the first spin: Zeus, Mount Olympus and a grid full of gems. That’s the point of a 1000 version, and it works. The base game kept me ticking along with a hit every three or four spins, but for a tumble slot, I expected a bit more noise. The multipliers are where the money is, and in 60-odd spins, they mostly kept their powder dry.
Gates of Olympus 1000’s symbols and payouts
The paytable has five gems at the low end and four Olympian treasures at the top, plus the Zeus scatter and the multiplier orbs. The in-game paytable shows payouts in dollars for your current bet.

Game symbols
Blue, green, yellow, purple and red gems are the low pays. A goblet, a ring, an hourglass and a crown sit above them, with the crown as the top symbol. Zeus himself is the scatter, and he pays on his own, as well as triggering the free spins. The multiplier orbs come in green, blue, purple and red, plus a crystal orb. There’s no wild.
Number of paylines
There are no paylines. Gates of Olympus 1000 pays anywhere on a 6×5 grid. The total number of matching symbols on the screen at the end of a spin determines the win, and you need at least eight.
After every win, the tumble removes the winning symbols, the rest fall down and new ones drop in from above, with no limit on how many tumbles a spin can chain.
Payouts
| Symbol | 8-9 | 10-11 | 12-30 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crown | 10x $2 to $200 | 25x $5 to $500 | 50x $10 to $1,000 |
| Hourglass | 2.5x $0.50 to $50 | 10x $2 to $200 | 25x $5 to $500 |
| Ring | 2x $0.40 to $40 | 5x $1 to $100 | 15x $3 to $300 |
| Goblet | 1.5x $0.30 to $30 | 2x $0.40 to $40 | 12x $2.40 to $240 |
| Red gem | 1x $0.20 to $20 | 1.5x $0.30 to $30 | 10x $2 to $200 |
| Purple gem | 0.8x $0.16 to $16 | 1.2x $0.24 to $24 | 8x $1.60 to $160 |
| Yellow gem | 0.5x $0.10 to $10 | 1x $0.20 to $20 | 5x $1 to $100 |
| Green gem | 0.4x $0.08 to $8 | 0.9x $0.18 to $18 | 4x $0.80 to $80 |
| Blue gem | 0.25x $0.05 to $5 | 0.75x $0.15 to $15 | 2x $0.40 to $40 |
The Zeus scatter pays on its own: 3x your bet for four ($0.60 to $60), 5x for five ($1 to $100) and 100x for six ($20 to $2,000).
Disclaimer
The payouts in this review are read from the in-game paytable. Each cell shows the multiple of your bet, followed by the dollar range from the $0.20 minimum bet to the $20 maximum at Grand Mondial. Other casinos may set different bet limits, so the dollar amounts can change, while the multipliers stay the same.
Min/max bet
Bets run from $0.20 to $20 per spin at Grand Mondial. The double chance option adds 25% to your stake, so a $0.20 spin becomes $0.25.
Maximum win
The max win is 15,000x your stake: $3,000 on a $0.20 spin and $300,000 at the $20 maximum. If a round hits the cap, it ends on the spot, the win is paid up to 15,000x and any remaining features are forfeited.
RTP and volatility
The RTP is 96.50%, and it stays at 96.50% with the double chance option switched on. Buying free spins returns a fraction less, at 96.49%. The game rates itself as high volatility, which puts it among our high volatility slots: wins come less often on average, but the big ones can arrive in a short burst.
What happened when we played for real money
The intro screen sets the scene with the random multipliers up to 1,000x and the increasing multipliers in free spins. Grand Mondial adds its own layer on top, with pop-ups for a Weekly Wheel Drop and a Daily Tournament before you get to the reels.
We started at the $0.20 minimum and set autoplay to 20 spins with turbo on. Turbo didn’t change much: each spin still took around three seconds to settle, so this isn’t the game for anyone in a rush. The hits came regularly, roughly every three or four spins, and Zeus threw in a few multipliers along the way. The best of it was a $3.21 win, about 16x our stake.
For the next 20 spins, we tried Hyperplay, which skips the reels entirely and just shows you the result. Those 20 spins cost $4.00 and returned $2.49. We finished with another 20 spins on autoplay. Four scatters never landed together, so the free spins stayed out of reach across all 60-odd spins.
OPINION: Steady, but missing the thunder
For a tumble slot with 1,000x multipliers, I wanted more fireworks. A hit every three or four spins kept the balance from bleeding out, and the $3.21 win was a nice moment, but the multipliers rarely landed on a winning spin, which is when they actually count. High volatility means the real action is saved for the free spins, and 60 spins wasn’t enough to get there. Hyperplay is a clever touch, though. If you just want to know where you stand after 20 spins, it gets you there in seconds.
Gates of Olympus 1000’s slot special features
We didn’t trigger free spins in our session, so the free spins section below is based on the in-game rules rather than our own play. The tumbles, the multipliers and Hyperplay are the features we saw in action.
Tumble feature
After every spin, winning combinations are paid and the winning symbols disappear. The remaining symbols fall to the bottom, new ones fill the gaps from above, and the tumbles keep going until no new wins form. All tumble wins from a base spin are added to your balance at the end of the sequence.
Multiplier symbols
Multiplier orbs can land on any reel during spins and tumbles, in the base game and free spins. Each one takes a random value: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x or 1,000x. When the tumble sequence ends, all the multipliers on screen are added together, and the total win of the sequence is multiplied by that figure.
Free spins
Four or more Zeus scatters anywhere on the grid award 15 free spins, played on special reels. Every multiplier that lands on a winning spin is added to a running total multiplier, and that total applies to every later win in the round where a new multiplier hits. Three or more scatters during the bonus add five more free spins.
Double chance to win
The double chance switch next to the reels raises your bet to 25x the base bet instead of 20x, which is a 25% increase. In return, more scatters appear on the reels, and the chance of triggering free spins naturally is doubled. While it’s on, the buy free spins option is disabled, and the RTP stays at 96.50%.
Buy free spins
Like most bonus buy slots, Gates of Olympus 1000 lets you skip the wait. The free spins cost 100x your bet, which was $20 at our $0.20 stake, and four scatters are guaranteed on the triggering spin. The RTP when buying is 96.49%. There’s no Super Free Spins option in this version.
Hyperplay
Hyperplay is an instant autoplay mode. You choose your settings, the game plays the spins without showing the reels, and you get the outcome straight away: what you wagered and what you won. It’s perfect for anyone who wants results rather than animations, but it can also make it very easy to burn through your balance, so set your limits first.
OPINION: Hyperplay is a double-edged sword
I like Hyperplay a lot. Twenty spins in a couple of seconds, with a clear summary of $4.00 in and $2.49 back, is exactly the kind of honest snapshot a slow-spinning game needs. The flip side is that it strips away the one thing that slows you down: watching the reels. Use it with a set number of spins and a loss limit, and it’s a great tool. Use it on repeat, and it’s a quick way to empty your balance.
Gates of Olympus 1000’s graphics and sound
It’s classic Gates of Olympus: Zeus floating beside the reels, marble columns, burning braziers and Mount Olympus in the clouds behind a gold-framed grid. The gems and treasures are crisp and colourful, and Zeus charges up and fires his multipliers onto the grid with a flourish that never really gets old. If you’ve played the original, you’ll feel at home within one spin.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Graphics | Zeus on Mount Olympus, with gem and treasure symbols on a gold-framed 6×5 grid |
| Optimized for mobile | Yes, full screen in portrait mode, with the buy and double chance buttons below the grid |
| Music | Ambient soundtrack and sound effects, with separate ambient and sound FX toggles |
| Special features | Tumbles, multipliers up to 1,000x, free spins with a growing multiplier, double chance, buy free spins, Hyperplay, quick spin and turbo spin |
Gates of Olympus 1000’s mobile experience
On a phone, Gates of Olympus 1000 opens in full screen, and portrait mode is where it shines. The layout is smarter than on desktop: the buy free spins button and the double chance switch move from the left of the reels to just below the grid, right where your thumb already is.
Setting the max bet, starting autoplay or jumping into Hyperplay is just as easy in portrait mode, and the credit and bet stay clearly visible in a font that’s easy on the eyes. The game ran without a glitch, apart from one hiccup at Grand Mondial: the first time we launched it, the game loaded as a screen within a screen. A page reload fixed it straight away.

Gates of Olympus 1000 vs Gates of Olympus
The 1000 version doesn’t replace the 2021 original, and many lobbies carry both. These are the differences, based on the in-game rules and our Gates of Olympus review:
| Feature | Gates of Olympus (2021) | Gates of Olympus 1000 |
|---|---|---|
| Max win | 5,000x | 15,000x |
| RTP | 96.50% | 96.50% |
| Volatility | High | High |
| Hyperplay | No | Yes |
If you want the bigger ceiling and the 1,000x multiplier, the 1000 version is the one to play. If you’d rather stick with the game that started it all, the original still holds up.
Gates of Olympus 1000’s pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Multipliers up to 1,000x | Spins take around three seconds, even on turbo |
| 15,000x max win | High volatility means long waits for free spins |
| Hits every three or four spins in our session | Multipliers rarely landed on winning spins for us |
| Hyperplay gives instant results | Hyperplay makes it easy to spend fast |
| Double chance keeps the 96.50% RTP | No free spins in our 60-odd spins |

Solutions if you have issues with Gates of Olympus 1000
- Switch off double chance before buying. The buy free spins button is disabled while it’s on, so if you can’t buy the bonus, check that switch first.
- Reload if the screen doubles up. When we first opened the game on mobile at Grand Mondial, it showed a screen within a screen. Reloading the page fixed it.
- Check the game history. It’s in the settings menu, and every completed round is listed there, including the whole win of a free spins cycle.
- Set a limit before Hyperplay. The spins finish before you can react, so decide your number of spins and loss limit before you start.
A god of small mercies, until he isn’t
Gates of Olympus 1000 keeps everything that made the original a hit and turns the dial up: multipliers to 1,000x, a 15,000x ceiling and a 96.50% RTP that holds even with double chance switched on. In our session, it was steady rather than spectacular, with a hit every three or four spins, a $3.21 high point and no free spins in 60-odd spins. Hyperplay is a clever addition, as long as you use it with a limit. Spin the Gates of Olympus 1000 demo first, and if you want to compare it with other games, our free demo slots are a good place to start.
