Money Train 5

Provider : Relax
A 100,000x train that's slow to leave

Published slot data says Money Train 5 pays out on roughly one spin in five. Across more than 40 spins at SlotLords in a single session, we got a handful of wins, all of them small, and the train never left the station. Relax Gaming's fifth ride has a 100,000x ceiling in Ultra Mode, but this review shows how much patience it takes to reach the good part.

Money Train 5 Review

Money Train 5 review

Money Train 5 is a 5×4, 40-payline slot from Relax Gaming that brings the gang back from space to a wrecked, post-apocalyptic Earth. We played it for real money at SlotLords and checked every figure on this page against Relax Gaming’s game page data.

The formula that made the series famous is still here, with a sticky-symbol bonus full of collectors, payers and snipers. This time, a train runs underneath it through 20 stations. However, the number that matters most is a new one. The max win depends on the mode you pick: 50,000x in Standard or 100,000x in Ultra. Choose before you spin, because the mode also changes your maximum bet.

Money Train 5: The Series Goes Post-Apocalyptic

Game symbols

The paytable has four card suits at the low end and four gunslingers at the top. The Skeleton Gunslinger is the premium, and the Gas Mask wild matches it, substituting for every paying symbol except the bonus symbol. Nuclear Bombs only appear during the Nuclear Wild feature, and the bonus round brings its own cast of special symbols, covered further down.

Number of paylines

There are 40 fixed paylines. You set the stake and the mode, never the number of lines.

Min/max bet

Bets start at $0.10 per spin. At SlotLords, Standard Mode went up to $20, matching Relax Gaming’s limit. Ultra Mode is capped at $10 by the provider, so the higher ceiling comes with half the maximum stake. Enhanced Spin adds 50% to every bet, which turns a $0.10 spin into $0.15.

Maximum win

In Ultra Mode, the max win is 100,000x your stake, or $10,000 on a $0.10 spin. Standard Mode stops at 50,000x. Here’s the twist: at full stake, both modes land on the same $1,000,000, since Standard allows twice the bet. Ultra only pulls ahead when you compare the same bet size.

RTP and volatility

The default RTP is 96.10%, the same as Money Train 3 and 4. Operators can also run 94%, 92%, 90% or 86% versions, and the in-game info screen is the only place to check which one you’re on.

Money Train 5 belongs to a group of high-volatility slot games, and published data puts the hit frequency at 19.57%, roughly one win every five spins. Buying a feature changes the maths, as the game rules put the RTP of every buy option at 94.50%.

What happened when we played for real money

The game took a while to load at SlotLords. We can’t say whether the delay was on Relax Gaming’s side or the casino’s, but it was long enough to notice. After that, we skipped the intro and the screens explaining the tickets, stations and Nuclear Wilds, since the rules cover all of that anyway.

We played in Standard Mode at $0.10 per spin to get a feel for how the game pays, with the speed turned up from the start. The first win came about 7 or 8 spins in, a wild reel across the screen that paid 8 cents. A couple of bonus symbols showed up early as well, but never enough to trigger anything.

At around 20 spins, we had three or four wins, all of them small. A Nuclear Wild landed again and didn’t add much. By 40 spins, the pattern was clear: the base game paid little and often enough to slow the bleed, but the bonus stayed out of reach. One spin did get flagged as a big win, which was only $1.20, and a few more small ones followed, but nothing came close to covering the session.

OPINION: Built for the long haul

I like this one. The dystopian look and the locomotive under the reels give the series a fresh coat of paint, and I appreciate that the game doesn’t throw a party over an 8-cent win. Plenty of slots do, and it gets old fast. The flip side is that 40-odd spins at 10 cents told me very little about what Money Train 5 can actually do, because everything that matters happens in the bonus. That’s par for the course for a very high-volatility game, so I’d try the demo first and bring a bankroll that can wait for the train.

Money Train 5’s slot special features

We didn’t trigger free spins in our session, but we did see Nuclear Wild in action twice. Here are the features that you might be able to land.

Nuclear Wild

Nuclear Wild can trigger at random on any base game spin. Crosshairs lock onto up to five reels and plant Nuclear Bombs, and any bomb that lands in a winning combination detonates into a full wild reel. It’s the base game’s best shot at a decent line win, although both of ours paid pocket change.

Free spins and the train

Three or more bonus symbols trigger the round with 3 spins. Every new bonus or special symbol sticks and resets the counter to 3, the classic Money Train hold-and-win shape. The twist is the ticket symbol. Tickets worth +1 to +5 shift the reels from right to left, and every reel that leaves the grid pushes the train one station forward and pays out what was on it.

The stations add upgrades along the way:

  • Station 5: Persistent symbols can appear
  • Station 10: A fifth row opens up
  • Station 15: The Bomber and Pyromancer join the reels
  • Station 20: The Permanent Payer becomes possible

The catch is that the same shift can push a working persistent symbol off the left edge, so progress and loss come from the same mechanic.

Special symbols

  • Collector: Collects the values of every bonus symbol on screen
  • Payer: Adds its value to every bonus symbol
  • Collector-Payer: Does both, collecting first and then paying
  • Sniper: Fires at bonus symbols and multiplies their values
  • Necromancer: Brings removed symbols back to the grid
  • Absorber: Takes the values of other symbols into itself
  • Arms Dealer: Upgrades other special symbols
  • Ticket Master: Counts towards Super Free Spins and sends the train to station 15 before the first spin
  • Bomber: Lands from station 15 with x2 to x5 multipliers
  • Pyromancer: Creates a Hot Zone where eligible symbols become persistent and bonus values double
  • Permanent Payer: From station 20, pays into every bonus symbol on every spin

Standard Mode and Ultra Mode

You pick the mode before you spin. Ultra doubles the win cap to 100,000x, halves the maximum bet to $10 and improves the odds of Ultra free spins. Relax Gaming doesn’t say much beyond that, so treat Ultra as the higher-ceiling option rather than a different game.

Money Train 5 in Ultra Mode with the win up to 100,000x message

Enhanced Spin

Enhanced Spin raises your stake by 50% and more than doubles the chance of triggering free spins. The trade-off is the same as any ante bet: you pay the extra on every spin, bonus or not.

Bonus buy

Money Train 5 has six bonus-buy options, and every price scales with your bet. These are the costs at a $0.10 stake:

OptionCostAt a $0.10 stake
Bonus Reels10x$1
Ultra Bonus Reels25x$2.50
Free Spins100x$10
Ultra Free Spins250x$25
Super Free Spins (starts at station 15)500x$50
Ultra Super Free Spins2,000x$200

Bonus Reels don’t buy the bonus. They raise your odds of landing it on the next spins, and Ultra Bonus Reels do the same for the Ultra bonus. At SlotLords, the Ultra Bonus Reels option disappeared once the bet reached $12.50.

Money Train 5’s graphics and sound

The series has moved from the Wild West to steampunk to outer space, and now to a ruined Earth, and the dystopian setting suits it. The locomotive running underneath the reels is a nice touch, since it ties the station system to something you can actually see. The characters and their masks lean cartoonish, but not so far that the game loses its edge.

Money Train 5’s mobile experience

Money Train 5 loaded fairly quickly on mobile, a nice change from the slow start on desktop. Right away, the game asks whether you want to play with sound, and it’s worth saying yes, because the music and sound effects are well done.

Portrait mode is the way to play. The reels take up a good share of the screen, and your balance sits in the navbar at the bottom, so it’s always one glance away. Landscape works, but it doesn’t feel as comfortable.

One small detail we liked: the game remembered the fast spin setting from our desktop session, so we didn’t have to switch it on again.

Money Train 5 vs Money Train 4 and the rest of the series

Money Train 4 was billed as the gang’s last ride. Now they’re back, and for the first time in the series, the headline max win has gone down.

So, which Money Train pays the most? On max win, Money Train 4 still holds the record at 150,000x. On RTP, Money Train 2 leads at 96.40%. Money Train 5 makes its case in the bonus round, where the station system adds a layer of progression that the older games never had.

Best online casinos to play Money Train 5 in Canada

Check out the best slot sites that offer Money Train 5 below:

  1. SlotLords: Where we played. The game was live in the lobby on October 21, 2026, with Standard Mode stakes from $0.10 to $20.
  2. Gamblezen: All five Money Train titles available, and a massive welcome offer worth up to $5,450.
  3. SpinEmpire: More than 130 providers fill the lobby, Relax Gaming among them, and Money Train 4 is already in the lobby.

Solutions if you have issues with Money Train 5

  1. Give it a moment, then refresh. The game was slow to load in our session. If it hangs, a refresh or a cleared browser cache usually sorts it out.
  2. Reopen the game if you disconnect mid-bonus. Relax Gaming slots normally restore an unfinished round when you load the game again at the same casino.
  3. Send support the round ID. If a win or a bonus doesn’t appear, the round ID from the game history lets the casino trace it.

Worth the ticket, if you can wait for the whistle

Money Train 5 doesn’t reinvent the series, and it doesn’t need to. The station system gives the bonus a sense of progress, Nuclear Wild keeps the base game from going completely flat, and the choice between Standard and Ultra is a real decision rather than a gimmick. Our session showed the other side of very high volatility: lots of small change and no bonus. Try the demo, pick your mode deliberately and keep your stakes in proportion to your bankroll.

Final grade: 84 out of 100
