How I tested Divine Fortune Megaways
There is always a process I follow when carrying out a slot review!
The first of these steps is actually playing the game. You can’t really tell what a game is all about unless you spin the reels a few hundred times.
Playing a few hundred rounds allows me to see how often a win is triggered and how long it takes the bonus round to be triggered.
As a medium volatility slot, this game did not disappoint. Our journey, also provided valuable information about winning potential and what to expect.
Divine Fortune Megaways symbols and payouts
Since the game is all about Greek mythology, the symbols are represented by well-known characters that have fired the imagine of every generation since.
But let’s take a closer look at what you’ll find while spinning the reels of this slot and the kind of payouts to expect!
The symbols
The various symbols populating the reels consist of the more traditional A, K, J, Q and 10. But these are not the ones you should keep an eye for.
There are 4 high paying symbols that consist of Medusa, the Minotaur, a lion and an eagle.
The wild is represented by the winged Pegasus, it’s head for the Falling Wilds Re-spins and its rearing image for the Wild on Wild feature.
An additional symbol is the free spins symbol, which acts as the scatter and consists of the hand of Zeus holding a lightning bolt while surrounded by an olive branch on either side of the medallion.
And to complete the array of symbols we have 3 coins in bronze, silver and Gold, surrounded by olive branches and displaying a winged Pegasus.
These coins can only make an appearance during the bonus round, so keep an eye out for them as they deliver the highest prizes of the slot!
Paytable
No two symbols pay the same!
The A, K, J, Q and 10 payout in mere cents even if you land 6 in a payline.
Of the other symbols the Medusa pays the most, C$5, for 6 in a payline. The lion comes next, followed by the Minotaur and the eagle.
The two wilds don’t payout anything as they’re primarily designed to help you form winning combinations for the other symbols.
The scatter symbol, does not payout anything either, however, it will take you to the bonus round where the chances of landing a substantial win increase dramatically.
And last but not least, the 3 coins exclusive to the bonus round payout the most as follows:
- Bronze – 10x your bet
- Silver – 25x your bet
- Gold – 500x your bet
Min/max bet, autoplay option?
Divine Fortune Megaways offer various betting options that start from as little as C$0.10 per spin and go up to C$100 per spin.
The game comes with an autoplay option that enables you to choose how many spins you want it to for without your intervention. This could be anything from 10 to 1000 spins.
RTP
The Return To Player (RTP)percentage is at 96.09%, decent enough, though not the highest out there.
Volatility
Megaways fans will appreciate the medium volatility, especially since most Megaways slots come with high volatility.
As is customary from a medium volatility slot, you can expect frequent enough wins with decent enough payouts!
Hit frequency
The hit frequency is a little harder to determine, but while spinning the reels, our team has determined that it is 1:2.5 spins.
Jackpot/maximum win
As we have already mention at the beginning of this review, this revamped version does not come with a progressive jackpot like the original Divine Fortune.
However, the maximum win potential of x500 you stake, possible during the free spins round, will stave off any disappointment you might feel!
Aim for the bonus round if you’re after larger wins!
The medium volatility of the game ensures you land enough wins as you spin to maintain a steady return, if not equal to your expenses than almost.
The base game does not offer a lot of winning potential, especially since the max win is of C$5 when you land 6 Medusas in a payline.
The bonus round on the other hand, is where you want to be!
The scatter, or in this case, the free spins symbol, will award you from 10, 15 to 20 free spins and the feature can be re-triggered.
If you’re lucky enough, you can land 6 gold coins for the coveted prize of x500 your bet!
Game Features
The game’s main feature is the Megaways mechanic. To learn more about the feature, check out our Megaways page, as well as a full list of Megaways slots!
In essence, the number of active paylines changed with every spin, going from just a handful to over 100,000 in an instant.
But there is more to this slot, than the Megaways set up and in this next section of our review, we’ll be going over it in minute detail!
Wilds re-spins and other features
Divine Fortune Megaways comes with two distinctive wild symbols, both of which represent the mythological creature Pegasus.
To add to the entertainment factor, re-spins are attached to one of the wilds and multipliers are linked to the free spins round.
Wilds
As we’ve said there are two wilds to watch out for.
The first is the head of Pegasus, the Falling Wilds re-spins feature.
Once it appears on the reels and all winnings are paid out, each Wild symbol shifts down the reels by one position, awarding you re-spins.
The best part of this feature is that it keeps handling out re-spins until the Wild symbol drop out of sight at the bottom of the reels.
The second wild is the rearing Pegasus with the outstretched wings.
This wild expands to cover the entire reels helping you increase your chances of landing more than one winning combination.
Just like the other wild, once all wins have been awarded, it shifts down one position up to 7 Falling Wilds or until it drops out of site.
Re-spins/Free Spins
As we have already mentioned, the wilds hold the key to any re-spins to be had in this game.
On the other hand, if you land 4 hands of zeus, or the hand called ‘Free spins’ you can get the following free spins to start off the bonus round:
- 4 free spin symbols – 10 free spins
- 5 free spin symbols – 15 free spins
- 6 free spin symbols – 20 free spins
If you land more scatter symbols during any of the free spins round, the round is re-triggered.
Multipliers
The bonus round comes with 3 distinctive multipliers represented by the three coins we mentioned earilier.
These carry a multiplier of x10, x25 and x500, the latter being the highest prize you can land.
Bonus buy
If you want access to the bonus round, there is no sneaky side door that allows you to pay something extra to go directly to the good stuff!
Instead, you’ll have to take the longest road and hope that lady luck is on your side!
Two different wilds and the Megaways mechanic
This slot might not have a lot of features, but the ones it does have will increase the entertainment factor ten fold and increase your chances of landing some valuable wins.
The bonus round is the pinnacle of this game and it is a pity there is no bonus buy feature to jump right into the juiciest part of the slot!
Divine Fortune Megaways Graphics & Sound

Optimized for Mobile | 👍 |
Music | 👍 |

Improved graphics and sound
The graphics of the game are slightly improved, with sharper details and almost 3D elements.
There are no animations and the music invokes a temple atmosphere, with metallic clanging every time you spin.s
Solutions if you have some issues with a game
- Game malfunction – should there be a software malfunction as you play, all bets are void and are returned to your bankroll.
- Internet disconnection – Once you’re connected again you can have a replay.
Verdict
Divine Fortune Megaways might not have a progressive jackpot to distinguish it like the original version, but the Megaways mechanic and the array of features make sure this game can stand out.
The medium volatility is more than welcome, delivering wins not too frequently but neither too long in between.
My only complaint is the lack of a bonus buy feature. With a 500x your stake potential, I would gladly splurge to go directly to the bonus round and a chance to land that massive prize!
Other slots to play if you’ve enjoyed Divine Fortune Megaways
It is not the first time that a game developer has used Greek mythology for inspiration.
The original Divine Fortune, also by NetEnt, is certainly worth a spin or not, if only for a chance at the attached progressive jackpot.
If you’re looking for something else, 300 Shields and 300 Shields Extreme by NextGen Gaming are inspired by a Greek legend.
Age of the Gods by Playtech is also another favourite with many sequels to keep you entertained for a while!
