Evolution Gaming has just announced its partnership with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) agency to supply their online gambling platform, playalberta.ca, with live casino tables.
As of the 16th March 2021, six tables have gone live on the platform featuring Live Roulette, Infinite Blackjack, Live Baccarat, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em amongst others.
This is just the beginning, as there are plans to add more live games in the months to come.
The tables are available on Alberta’s only local gambling platform: playalberta.ca. It is the only regulated site by the government of the province of Alberta. Only players located within the Alberta border and aged 18+ can play, either on desktop, mobile or tablet.
Evolution’s commercial director Jeff Miller said: “The launch of AGLC is another proud moment for Evolution in the roll-out of our services in Canada. We are committed to delivering enhanced online gaming choice and entertainment for Albertans in the most exciting way possible with our world-leading games portfolio.” Source.
The AGLC is the third government-run Canadian gambling platform to feature Evolution’s live games. This addition comes after the success obtained with the British Colombia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and Loto-Quebec.
Who is Evolution Gaming?
Evolution Gaming hardly needs an introduction. It is the leading live casino supplier in the world and it has a reputation to prove all of its successes.
Apart from the excellent quality of its products and fairness, Evolution is the mastermind behind many live casino variants like Lightning Roulette, Instant Roulette, Infinite Blackjack, Blackjack Party and more.
It is also the creator of live casino games shows like Deal or No Deal, Dream Catcher, Monopoly Live, Crazy Time, Mega Ball and more.
The tables are available at most casinos with only a few exceptions. With many casinos, they are the sole live casino supplier.
Who is the AGLC?
The AGLC or Alberts Gambling, Liquor & Cannabis is the government agency that regulates gambling, liquor and cannabis use in the province of Alberta.
The agency has its own online gambling platform where local players aged over 18 can gamble safely online.
The agency puts a lot of emphasis on responsible gambling and by launching its own gambling site it ensures that money that would otherwise be spent at online companies, remains in the province.
As a matter of fact, all profit generated from playalberta.ca goes to the Government of Alberta’s General Revenue Fund, which supports programmes and services that help people every day.
In the last 2 years, C$1.4 million in revenue was generated from gambling, all of which was directed to the AGLC.

Gambling Awareness: Staying in the Green
At CanadaCasino, we believe that the best way to enjoy online gaming is to stay informed and in control. In the Canadian market, gambling should always be viewed as a form of paid entertainment, much like a movie ticket or a hockey game—never as a source of income.
The Golden Rules of Responsible Play
To keep your experience positive, we recommend following the Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines developed by the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction:
- Set a Hard Budget: Only wager what you can afford to lose. Once that “entertainment fund” is gone, it is time to log off.
- Time Management: Use your phone or casino tools to set session timers. It is easy to lose track of time when you’re on a roll.
- Avoid “The Chase”: Trying to win back losses is the most common pitfall. Accept a loss as the “cost of play” and walk away.
- Play Sober and Focused: Never gamble when you are stressed, upset, or under the influence of alcohol or substances.
